Mennonite Economic Development Association has developed a unique carbon offset program that enables triple-bottom-line projects and companies that are too small to qualify for most carbon offset dollars to access this form of financing. MEDA provides carbon offsets to donors using its own projects. Because MEDA is involved in these projects, it costs much less to certify them and MEDA can assure their quality.
Carbon offset donors learn where and how their carbon was offset and are notified when it has been completed. Sarona Green not only sells carbon offsets, but also provides a vehicle for MEDA members to invest in triple-bottom-line projects in emerging markets.
